Kavitha Muralidhar, Ph.D 

Kavitha Muralidhar is a long-time resident of Buffalo, New York. She holds a Bachelors in  Nutrition and Dietetics (B.Sc) and Teacher Education (B.Ed) with a Masters in Human  Development & Family Studies (M.Sc) along with a M.Ed degree in Teacher Education. She  started her career as a Faculty and Principal Researcher for the National Institute of Child  Development, India before moving to the U.S. She further graduated with a Masters degree in Higher Education Administration (Ed.M) and a Ph.d in Higher Education from the University at  Buffalo. Kavitha has worked directly with students in various capacities in colleges, high schools  and community organizations. She is passionate about student success, equity, and belonging  meeting each student where they are. She believes that institutional support and a nurturing  environment is important for each student to thrive and is interested in giving back to the  community. 


Her research focuses on immigrant students, and underrepresented and underserved  student populations.
